To commemorate Coco Chanel’s 125th birthday the French Mint is creating a collector’s coin. Designed by Karl Lagerfeld, the gold and silver coin’s face value is €5, a subtle hommage to the No. 5 perfume.  On the face of the coin Chanel’s image with Largefeld’s signature is visible. The other side has the trademark print in the background.

The coin’s a limited edition. Only 99 pieces of the gold will be made at €5,900 a pop, and respectively 11,900 pieces of the silver coin will be available at €45 each.
