There’s a new delicacy that’s getting all the hype in France today. De Jaeger had launched a new epicurian delight, the snail caviar. A 125 g. tin will set you back some $300.

Christian Dior & Chinese Artists

A Dior exhibition recently opened its doors at the UCCA. The Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing hosts the exhibition entitled “Christian Dior and Chinese Artists” until January 15th 2009. The contemporary artwork of some 20+ artists are inspired by the Dior fashion house, currently celebrating its 60th year. Practically all the mediums have been tapped: sculpture, photography, video and paintings are showcased in several installations. The vast collection of provocative musings are accompanied with a selection of Dior haute couture fashion pieces.

Armani/Fifth Avenue Concept Store

Next year an Armani concept store will be opening in Manhattan on Fifth Avenue. The doors will open on February 18th to a first, where all Armani collections will be available under one roof. The list is the following: Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Armani Jeans, EA7, Armani Casa, Giorgio Armani Beauty. There will be a full service restaurant operating on location.

2009 Campari Calendar | Jessica Alba

The tenth anniversary of the Campari calendar is celebrated with a luxury team of collaborators. Under Jean Paul Gaude’s creative direction Jessica Alba becomes photographer Mario Testino’s muse. The calendar has a retro feel to the its Malibu vibe. 9,999 copies will be printed.

Mulberry resists discounting prior to X-Mas

Mulberry - known for their luxury ready-to-wear and vast array of accessories - will be maintaining their prices despite a 12% decline in sales over the last quarter due to the financial crisis. Other luxury brands had justified discounts to stimulate a decline in sales as we had previously posted. Their stock value had dropped some 60% over 2008 the company hasn’t gone into debt and is expecting to close the year with profits.

Zaha Hadid Space Bar

Not too many of us will get to drink at the British-Iraki architect, Zaha Hadid’s work of art. The bar sits at the Home House in London: members only. The bar’s contours, and aerodynamic shape is somewhat is reminiscient of the Latent Utopias exhibition she had in Graz Austria. The steel bar is covered in a sleek metallic paint finish embellished with leather and led lighting. (Klingons not included.)

Louis Vuitton | Stephen Sprouse collection

The SS09 Louis Vuitton collection will be decaled with Stephen Sprouse graphics. Marc Jacobs and Sprouse worked together in 2001. Marc at the time had created some memorable pieces embellished with graffiti and rose imagery. It’s apparent that the collection is to ring in the Stephen Sprouse retrospective exhibition, which is to be held at the Deitch Gallery.

Chanel film

Karl Lagerfeld pays hommage to Coco Chanel with a silent movie. The ten minute film’s Parisian premiere is this Wednesday. The piece introduces the designer’s life in two moments, in 1913 and 1923.
