varvatos zz top aw09 ZZ Top Is Next In Line For John Varvatos

John Varvatos has selected ZZ Top to be the poster boy of his new fall/winter collection for 2009. The campaign’s photography is done by none other than Danny Clinch, a regular cohort with John Varvatos. The campaign was shot in LA’s Natural History Museum.”There’s some magical mystery, between looking good, going fast and playing loud.” ZZ Top’s frontman Billy Gibbons couldn’t have put it any simpler. You’d think they’d be in Texas. Nevertheless, every girl’s crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man.

mein kampf hitler Hitlers Mein Kampf Sells For $30,000

Originally published in 1926 in Bavaria, this autographed copy of Hitler’s manifesto was sold at an auction in Ludlow, England last week. It was a pre-publication copy given by Hitler to a fellow inmate in 1925. In related news, I had the chance to watch Quentin Tarantino’s new film Inglorious Basterds over the weekend. This spaghetti western take on WWII and Nazi hunting made me bust a gut laughing. A highly entertaining cinematic experience. By the way, the $30,000 price ticket for the signed book was purchased by an anonymous telephone buyer. Anonymous. Now, what was it with Apache Aldo Raine’s obsession with the ambiguity of Nazi’s being unable to abandon their uniforms?

brooklyn penthouse 3 Clock Tower Penthouse

This penthouse, located in Brooklyn, broke a record twice over for real estate sold in the Manhattan suburb. The crib went for $25 million. Great view of the city, of both Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, as well as panoramic views from the 4 clock windows pointing in the cardinal directions.  Yes, those clocks work. The penthouse has 3 stories, and totals over 6000 square feet. When throwing a party here, people will notice you’re fashionably late.
