Saks opened a Kiton boutique at their Manhattan flagship last month. Apparently, the 2000 sq feet retail operation was years in the making, only the timing couldn’t be worst. NY Times comments the opening of the shop as Saks trying to sell “$7000 suits [...] just in time for the worst recession in 70 years.” Kiton employs some 300 tailors and their clothing lines are quite limited in quantity, only a few thousand per year are produced in Italy. There’s some 25 hours of work in the jacket alone, which will set you back some $5500. The sunglasses are at $1,395. Trousers start at $1,195. Jeans are $795 a pop. The only Kiton I sport is their cologne.

Next year an Armani concept store will be opening in Manhattan on Fifth Avenue. The doors will open on  February 18th to a first, where all Armani collections will be available under one roof. The list is the following: Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Armani Jeans, EA7, Armani Casa, Giorgio Armani Beauty. There will be a full service restaurant operating on location.

Roberto Cavalli opened a new store with his partner, Hungarian film director/producer - of Terminator trilogy fame - Andy Vajna this weekend. This is Andy’s second shop in Budapest. He also owns the Byblos boutique that opened its doors this spring.
