Get ready to dump those trendy white iPod earphones. Monster only recently released their Miles Davis Tribute in-ear headphones. The limited edition trumpet inspired high-performance earbuds are numbered and come with a special case resembling that of a musical instrument’s. Monster’s Miles Davis Tribute also comes with a 50th Anniversary boxed set of the artist’s album Kind of Blue on two CDs and DVD including a booklet. The $400 earphones come with a lifetime replacement warranty.

A few weeks ago we posted some news about the smart phone Ulysse Nardin was going to launch at Basel World. At the time they were very hush-hush on the details. Finally, more info is now available. During the initial launch the phone will be available in 5 different colour schemes like rose gold with versions in blue and steel, as well as stealth black and stealth blue. Another 10 colour combinations are to be released later in the year. At first glance the features are quite standard: 5 megapixel camera, 2.1” touch display, email and internet, WIFI accessibility. Two other features simply blow me away: fingerprint lock for user authentication and the kinetic rotor system for power. For animated views of the phone and rotor click here and here.

Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin produced a kinetic hybrid smart phone, the Chairman.  The cell phone will be launched at the Basel World watch fair this month. It’s a first. A cell phone using two sources of energy. The phone is a numbered limited edition with rose gold and lapis blue detailing. The rotor window on the back is an added touch. It will be available on the market later this year. No news on the price.

Made of solid 18 carat yellow gold, white gold and rose gold. The white gold line is encrusted with a total of 138 brilliant cut diamonds of the best quality. But the main feature of this one-of-a-kind phone is it’s “home button”. It carries a rare 6.6 carat diamond. Ticket price $2,517,345.
