Lamborghini Reventón Roadster | Speculating with those odds
Tags: car, Lamborghini, Reventon Roadster, video
It turns out the 1:700,000,000 odds of getting your hands around the steering wheel of the Lamborghini Reventón Roadster comes with a higher price tag. The ticket price for the limited edition automobile was set at €1.1 million at the Frankfurt Autoshow some weeks ago. Now, a new owner (one of ten) is punting it off on Jameslist for €1.45 million. The promo vid informs us that someone’s more likely to give birth to a Nobel prize laureate than driving one of these. If given the choice, which would you choose?

Customized Chanel Motorbike

In the pic: The Easy Rider motorbike was nothing more than a prop for Chanel’s 2010 pre-spring photoshoot. The bike was inspired by the wheels Marlon Brando rode in The Wild One. The bike will not be brought into commercial production. Somehow, I’m not surprised. It seems quite masculin for Chanel’s broad clientele. BTW: I saw the Chanel flick last night. It was an entertaining bio with the spirit of the age well documented; Coco, a product of her time. Question: with all the stuff Lagerfeld is producing under the Chanel brand (concept cars, coins, films, segways), what time is he a product of? Saddled on the bike: Lara Stone. Looking on we have Karl Lagerfeld, and Italian model Baptiste Giacobini.

The combined effort of trainees at Daimler Benz resulted in the F-Cell Roadster. It’s a vehicle with a delicate balance of styles and technologies spanning the history of the company, such as carbon-fiber bucket seats with hand-stitched leather covers and the distinctively styled fiberglass front section, based on the component from the Formula One racing bodies. Also the traditional steering wheel is substituted by a joystick. The F-Cell is an emission free electric vehicle that has a top speed of 25kph. Sunday driving anyone?

Submersible Garages

In London where real estate is sparse for such luxuries as the traditional garage, it seems that some designers have found a creative way to combine the garden’s aesthetic and possible storage functionality with a submersible solution. Very James Bondish. Ticket price: £50,000.

The Chanel Segway boasts a velocity of 20 kph. Stylish treads. If you try squinting you’ll notice the CC monogram on the tire’s traction. The vehicle’s steering is outfitted with a Chanel bag. They’re made to order. No news on the cost. You would think that all these new additions to Chanel’s peripheral accessories are for the sole amusement of Karl Lagerfeld’s weekend passtimes. While you’re riding one of these, what’s your chauffeur up to?

Mercedes 300SL Gullwing

A window on what luxury was in 1955. This car has to be one of the coolest of the oldtimers. Even today those gullwing doors are such a stylish and progressive detail in sports automobiles. It’s one of the cars being auctioned at Coy’s. I’d rather drive one of these than any of the cars in Mercedes’ current roster.
