Mulberry resists discounting prior to X-Mas

Mulberry - known for their luxury ready-to-wear and vast array of accessories - will be maintaining their prices despite a 12% decline in sales over the last quarter due to the financial crisis. Other luxury brands had justified discounts to stimulate a decline in sales as we had previously posted. Their stock value had dropped some 60% over 2008 the company hasn’t gone into debt and is expecting to close the year with profits.

Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior lower prices in Japan

Seems like the economy isn’t doing too well in Japan either. LV and CD hope the 7% price reduction will motivate luxury consumption and make up for the exchange rate volatility. The price adjustment is valid on leather goods, accessories, ready-to-wear, shoes, watches and jewelry.
